For 25 years, Susan has specialised in the areas of Local Government and Planning Law and is an Accredited Specialist in those areas of the law.
She holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Law and is also a member of the Environment and Planning Law Association of NSW. She is an experienced litigator who regularly appears in the Land & Environment Court as a solicitor-advocate. Susan’s clients appreciate her pragmatic approach of seeking out solutions to their problems in the most effective and efficient ways that are available.
Susan has a very high success rate in Court proceedings because of her many years of experience in these areas. She has appeared for Applicants, Councils and government authorities in the Land & Environment Court in Class 1, 2 and 3 appeals, in Class 4 proceedings and in Class 5 prosecutions. She also undertakes Supreme Court and Local Court work, and advises in relation to the full spectrum of local government matters including development applications, unlawful development, compliance issues, judicial review, section 94 Contributions Plans, rates and levies, ICAC, validity of consents, resolutions of local councils, public roads and land classification.
Susan enjoys breaking away from the demands of her busy legal practice with exhilarating rides on her beloved motorbike, swimming in the ocean year- round and dabbling in a bit of tandem skydiving to keep things interesting. She’s a late bloomer on the ski slopes, happily waving to her husband as he sets off for a fast-paced run down a World Cup track while she takes the less challenging trail to the valley!
